Ataxia Act #1

Two well-groomed women enter a well-known downtown restaurant in order to have lunch. They order their regular meal and have a pleasant conversation. From the moment the first dish arrives at the table and gradually until the meal is completed, the scene changes. One of the two women, with ever-increasing excuses, constantly prevents the other from touching any of the dishes while she silently accepts the prohibitions. The video ends when the first woman has consumed all the food and alcohol while the second one has not managed to touch anything. They get up, both smile happily, pay and leave. With this work the artist tries to approach the paradox of power as it arises in any kind of relationship⋅ personal, social and economic relationships that are otherwise characterized as equal and democratic.
