The five artists are hiding inside a car. Black plastic covers its surface entirely while piles of industrial garbage fill every empty space in the car. When the lack of space becomes unbearable, this huge “garbage bag” begins to shake, breathing heavily and looking for a way out. The black plastic slowly tears away and body parts emerge until each body is born from this “black womb”. These “postmodern natives” will furiously unpack the car, keep and love their junk, collect and compress it into a giant ball and leave the vehicle dragging the ball with their beloved possessions behind. Against the so-called “body intelligence,” Girls introduces the concept of those bodies that are ready to consent to every possible idea and stay there while being exposed to the most uncomfortable positions, smells and materials. In this sense, the bodies abandon any desire for change while seeming hypnotized by their own “waste”.
