Four people, four colors. In a neutral white space, each person represents a different color and tries to mark their own area. The small drips at the beginning are soon replaced by large amounts of paint and other materials taking over the canvas, while dynamic gestures replace small movements. The sense of togetherness is constantly diminishing under the weight of the ego trying to gain power and control over others. Human creativity is often combined with the will to explore and exploit every inch, every minute and every living organism in order for the individual to exist and expand in the universe. This could be called survival, but in a post-capitalist world, it is called personal growth. The title of the work is a clear reference to Marina Abramovic’s work that turns dirt into an act of cleansing. In an inverse way, the artists transform the need for survival into an act of violation.
