Using the archives of the Folklore Museum of Florina, the artist is trying to reinvent the past thought a repetitive and continuous action, a reference point to handwork in traditional societies. Using waxed string employed in Florina’s candle-making, she attempts to use this material to create a “jewel” around her neck which, the more she wraps it, the more it begins to create discomfort rather than some other form of pleasure. This vicious cycle of endless labor together with the unacknowledged female contribution and the disappearance of the self in daily hard work, are some of the elements that the artist attempts to address. The waxed string is tied around her neck for quit a long time and then set on fire to complete its circle.
